Gloria White-Hammond and Liz Walker are speaking today (May 19, 2010) in the Harvard Science Center. They are falsely accusing the people and government of Sudan of engaging in slavery. White-Hammond and Walker are liars employed by billionaire-funded Jewish pro-Israel groups to engage in pro-war propaganda against Sudan, the largest country in Africa.

Sudan is nation whose population are almost entirely racially Black African. The majority of the population are Muslim and Arabic-speaking. The people of Sudan achieved independence for their nation in 1956 after a long period of brutal British colonial rule. For the past two decades Sudan has had an independent progressive government that has refused to bow to pressure from international monopoly capitalists who want Sudan to privatize its resources and government services. The government of Sudan has refused to let international monopoly capitalists plunder the resources of Sudan, which include petroleum, uranium, other mineral resources, gum arabic, other agricultural resources, and the water of the Nile River. The government of Sudan refused to support the US-led “Gulf War” bombing and invasion of Iraq. The government of Sudan refuses to support “Israel” and the Zionist genocidal colonial project against the Palestinians. Instead the government of Sudan supports the Palestinians and their right to self-determination in Palestine. 

For all these reasons and more, the government of Sudan for the past two decades has been targeted for “regime change” by the US/UK/Zionist imperialists. In the early 90s the Bill Clinton administration imposed economic sanctions – economic warfare- against Sudan. The Clinton administration also funded military warfare against Sudan. The Clinton administration funded and armed the SPLA in a civil war in South Sudan. The SPLA fought against other Southerners as well as Northerners who supported the Sudanese government. Millions of people fled from South Sudan to Khartoum because they were afraid of the US-backed SPLA and not afraid of the Sudanese government. In 1998 the Clinton administration ordered the US military to launch a missile strike against Sudan. This strike destroyed the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical plant, which had been the only pharmaceutical plant in Sudan. The lack of human and veterinary medicine in Sudan following the destruction of Al-Shifa caused misery and hardship in Sudan.

In the early 1990s Zionist anti-Muslim fanatic Charles Jacobs founded the so-called “American Anti-Slavery Group” (AASG) in order to make false allegations of “slavery” against the people and governments of Sudan and Mauritania. Jacobs has also founded or been involved in the leadership of other Zionist organizations such as CAMERA (a group that exists to criticize any news media who fail to be biased towards “Israel” and against Palestinians and other Arabs and Muslims), the David Project (which attacks academicians who fail to be biased), “Christians and Jews United for Israel” (which includes hardcore rightwing Christians Zionists who support “Israel” because they believe that Jesus Christ will return to Earth when the Jews control all of Palestine), and the “Foundation for Defense of Democracies” (a neoconservative thinkthank which formed after the U.S./Zionist 9/11 false-flag operation in order to promote all-out-war against Muslims with the pretext of “War on Terror”). With the AASG Jacobs sought to demonize Arabs and Muslims in Africa in order to divert attention from the heinous crimes that Zionists were perpetrating against Arabs and Muslims in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon. Jacobs also sought to use these false “slavery” allegations to try to turn Black Americans against Arabs and Muslims and to try to get Black Ameicans to support “Israel” and to support imperialist wars against Muslim countries. 

Eventually Jacobs was able to enlist or hire Liz Walker and Gloria White-Hammond to support his ridiculous claims of “slavery” in Sudan. Jacobs, Walker, White-Hammond and the AASG accuse the government of Sudan based in the North in Khartoum of allowing slave-raider to bring Southerners to be slaves in the North. Gloria White-Hammond traveled to SPLA-controlled South Sudan and claimed (according to a 2004 article in the official magazine of the Tufts University School of Medicine) that she was able to buy back over a thousand slaves in two days for $33 per slave. This claim is obviously impossible. She was in an area controlled by the US-backed SPLA. The SPLA would have had to be allowing the “slave traders” or operate on a massive scale. Otherwise there wouldn’t be thousands of “slaves” ready to be sold in a mass market. If there were slaves, no one would sell them for $33. Camels and cattle were even worth many hundreds of dollars in Sudan. What really happened is that thousands of local people were paid a small day’s wage to pretend to be slaves. It was a racket that provided local phony “slave traders” and phony “slaves” with money while it provided the AASG and other anti-Sudan propaganda groups with a story. Phony “slave redemption” operations in Sudan were so obviously unreal that they were even exposed as being fake on U.S. major network television on 60 minutes. Chattel slavery is not a real phenomenon in Sudan. 

In 2004 it became clear that the civil war in South Sudan was ending. The Sudanese government agreed to so many of the SPLA’s demands that it was impossible for the SPLA leadership to continue the war. The Comprehensive Peace Agreement was signed in January 2005. The US/Zionist imperialists still wished to overthrow the Sudanese government and/or to split Sudan into several smaller countries that they would be able to control more easily. So the US/Zionist imperialists instigated a new civil war in Darfur (Western Sudan) funding and arming rebels there. The US/Zionist imperialists also assassinated SPLA leader John Garang in a mysterious “plane crash” in August 2005 as punishment for making peace, but peace in the South still held. At this point the whole Jewish Zionist (Pro-Israel) lobby in the “USA” began working on anti-Sudan propaganda about the situation in Darfur. 

The Zionists falsely accused the Sudanese government and people of “genocide” in Darfur. The Zionists made grossly exaggerated claims about the severity of the war and about how many people were killed. The Zionists blamed all the violence on the Sudanese government. Zionist atrocities against Palestinians were increasing, the Zionists attacked and cluster-bombed Lebanon, and the Zionist-supported genocidal U.S. occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan were ongoing. The Zionists needed the phony campaign about Darfur to divert attention from Palestine and the wars and to depict Arabs and Muslims as villains. Charles Jacobs, Liz Walker and Gloria White-Hammond - working with the major Jewish Zionist organizations - shifted their anti-Sudan propaganda efforts from phony “slavery” to phony “genocide in Darfur”. Gloria White-Hammond’s husband Ray Hammond was made chair of the Boston Foundation, a foundation which controls hundreds of millions of dollars and which is partially funded by Jewish Zionist billionaires Bob and Myra Kraft who are the owners of the New England Patriots. The Krafts also fund and participate in the leadership of Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP). CJP’s activist wing, JCRC of Greater Boston, engages in a lot of well-funded pro-Israel and pro-war activism against Muslim countries. JCRC Boston founded an anti-Sudan front group, the so-called “Massachusetts Coalition to Save Darfur”, in which Gloria White-Hammond was given a leadership position. In 2007 the American Jewish Committee (AJC) gave the Hammonds an award for supporting “Israel” and attacking Arabs, Muslims and Africans with false demonizing propaganda. Liz Walker presented the AJC award to the Hammonds at the ceremony at a synagogue. 

Eventually the Zionist “Save Darfur” groups were exposed. Even the New York Times revealed that the money that the “Save Darfur” organizations was raising was not being spent on aid for people in Darfur but was used primarily to fund more pro-war anti-Sudan propaganda in the “U.S”. Lockheed-Martin was given a $250 million no-bid contract to build UN military bases in Darfur and Kordofan. But this was exposed and it is possible that Lockheed-Martin did not get all the money. At this point the war in Darfur has been over for years. General Martin Luther Agwai, the commander of the UN force in Darfur, said last year that the war is over. There have been peace agreements in Darfur. It has become more difficult for the Zionists to keep up their shrill propaganda about Darfur. The major Jewish Zionist organizations have shifted their focus to demonizing Iran with false allegations about nuclear weapons. Iran has no nuclear weapons. The “Israelis” have hundreds of nuclear weapons, and the “USA” has thousands. The “USA” and “Israel” are the real nuclear threat to the world.

Today Liz Walker and Gloria White-Hammond are back again this time focusing on their tired old discredited accusations about “slavery” in Sudan. Liz Walker and Gloria White-Hammond have sold out the African race. There is real slavery in the “USA”. Millions off people are locked up in concentration camps called “prisons” in the “USA”. These prisoners work for pennies per hour. It is slavery. These prisoners are disproportionately Blacks, Latinos and poor Whites. The “USA” has the highest imprisonment rate in the history of the world, and the prisoners are in slave camps. Meanwhile in Palestine, the Jewish-supremacist “Israeli” government destroys Palestinian homes, burns Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip alive in a holocaust of white phosphorous, and continues to deny millions of Palestinians their Right to Return to their homes and lands. The genocidal occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan continue. CIA drone planes bomb Pakistan. But instead of working to stop these Satanic injustices, Liz Walker and Gloria White-Hammond take Zionist money, support “Israel”, continue to level false allegations against Black African people in Sudan, and support imperialist war against Africa.
